Curriculum & Sample Lessons

Our program includes curriculum for preschool through elementary grade levels. Each subject includes online workbooks that are paired with interactive lessons that provide quality instruction with immediate feedback and affirmation. Workbook pages may be printed, loaded on to a tablet or e-reader, or simply viewed on during the corresponding lesson. Though recommended for preschool lessons, printing is not required for most workbook pages.

Pre-foundational Skills (for 2-3 year old children)

Our series of Learning Words work books make up what we call our Pre-foundational Skills curriculum. Typically for children ages 2-3, this series of five books is a great introduction to our program. Students are taught verbal skills, how to hold a pencil properly, and given basic matching and manipulative exercises. Our Self-Esteem Component begins at this level and focuses on building Christian character and fostering spiritual growth.

Reading

The Kirkwood Reading Series consists of 36 reading books, as well as 12 additional books specifically designed for progressive use in a small reading group or with parents. Stories written by over 50 authors teach and reinforce spiritual values, work ethics, and ethical standards of behavior. Children will be asked to answer comprehension questions at the conclusion of each story. Answers entered on the computer are stored in the student's database, which makes comprehension and mastery level of all subjects available for parental review.

Discipleship Bible Lessons

Our Discipleship Bible Lesson series defines a pathway that enables children to grow and become Disciples of Jesus, encouraging elementary age students to store the truth of God's Word deep within their hearts and souls. Video lessons consist of beautifully illustrated scriptures, along with corresponding life application and scripture memorization. Discipleship Bible Lessons are independent of any denomination and are simply designed to stimulate the Fruit of the Spirit in Christ-like character.

Writing

Our Writing Program contains four books which progress from writing simple sentences with word and picture prompts in Writing Book 1 to writing and typing essays in Writing Book 4. As children progress through our writing books they are given the opportunity to take the values they have been taught and personally apply them to real life situations. Upon completion of the Writing Series our program can compile all of a child's stories into a personalized book which the child has authored.
